Gasgoo Munich- China FAW Group recently convened a meeting to announce a key leadership appointment. Zhang Xiaofan has been named a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China FAW Group, effective immediately following a notice from the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. Legal procedures for the position change are currently being finalized.
The appointment brings FAW's leadership team to nine members: Chairman and Party Committee Secretary Qian Xiandong; Director, General Manager, and Deputy Party Committee Secretary Liu Yigong; Director and Deputy Party Committee Secretary Liang Guiyou; Standing Committee Member Sun Jiguang, who heads the discipline inspection team stationed at FAW; Standing Committee Member and Chief Accountant Fang Shili; Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Wu Bilei (a professor-level senior engineer); Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Chen Bin (senior engineer); Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Gao Pu (senior engineer and economist); and Zhang Xiaofan.
Public records indicate Zhang was born in March 1970 and holds a bachelor's degree in engineering. His career includes extensive experience at Dongfeng Motor, where he served as deputy director and director of the general office, and head of brand and publicity. He also held roles as executive deputy general manager of Dongfeng Yulon Auto Sales, general manager of Dongfeng Light Commercial Vehicle Marketing, and assistant general manager of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. Additionally, Zhang served as a deputy mayor of Xiangyang on a temporary basis, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Special Commercial Vehicle, and held positions in the board office of Dongfeng Motor Group. He later became board secretary of the group, general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, and led the commercial vehicle business unit at Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.
