Gasgoo Munich- The 2026 Geely Cowboy hit the market on May 30, available in three trims: Xunchuan, Zhuyue, and Guanye. While the official guide price ranges from 81,900 to 90,900 yuan, a limited-time offer brings that down to 75,900 to 84,900 yuan.

As a compact internal combustion engine SUV, its pricing strategy targets a specific niche: the 70,000 yuan "trendy off-road" urban SUV segment.

Boxy and Bold

The 2026 Geely Cowboy sticks to its signature boxy design language. Up front, split LED headlights pair with a large, off-road-style bumper, while a silver skid plate at the bottom adds a rugged touch to the fascia.

Wide fenders and boxy cladding along the sides give the vehicle a compact, muscular stance. A factory-installed roof rack offers 1.3 square meters of cargo space with a 50-kilogram load limit. The rear-mounted "schoolbag" storage box features a top-opening design and drainage holes, with internal mesh pockets for separating wet and dry items. This exterior kit means buyers don’t need aftermarket modifications—the off-road look comes straight from the factory.

On the color front, the 2026 model introduces an exclusive "Warrior Black" finish. Glossy black paint pairs with smoked wheels and red brake calipers to deliver a cohesive "Dark Knight" aesthetic.

Inside, the 2026 Geely Cowboy debuts a "Gilded Black" color scheme, featuring black leather accented by fine gold stitching. The seats combine leather with suede-like material, and the front seats are embossed with a "BORN FREE" logo.

A 14.6-inch floating touchscreen dominates the center console. The air conditioning vents retain an infinity-symbol motif that echoes the taillight design. Ambient lighting wraps around the cabin in 256 colors, shifting with the drive mode. Meanwhile, the center console retains physical buttons for ease of use.

Dimensions check in at 4,442 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,770 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,640 mm.

Tech and Underpinnings

The 2026 Geely Cowboy comes standard with 12 features across the lineup, including a 14.6-inch central screen, the Flyme Auto infotainment system, a 540-degree panoramic view, mobile app remote control, and automatic climate control.

Developed jointly by Geely and Xingji Meizu, Flyme Auto supports full-scenario voice interaction, three-finger screen projection, and a deeply customized version of Amap that includes traffic light countdowns to aid driving decisions. A Bluetooth key allows for seamless unlocking, with the system automatically reconnecting when the driver returns.

L2-level driver assistance systems are available on the top-tier Guanye trim, featuring Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), AEB-P pedestrian recognition, and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELKA).

Under the hood, the 2026 Geely Cowboy is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 133 kW of maximum power and 290 N·m of peak torque. It’s mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with a WLTC combined fuel consumption of roughly 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

Chassis-wise, every model features MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear, equipped with RS-valve dampers rarely seen in this class. Given that most competitors rely on a torsion beam rear axle, this hardware setup offers better support on unpaved roads while maintaining ride comfort in the city.

It’s worth noting that this combination of a 1.5TD engine, 7DCT transmission, and multi-link rear suspension is uncommon among ICE vehicles at this price point. Logically, Geely isn’t simply stacking features; the 12 standard items are designed to enhance both daily commuting and light off-road scenarios.

The 540-degree panoramic view simplifies parking in tight garages or complex conditions, while remote control via the mobile app proves practical across different climates. Meanwhile, Flyme Auto effectively translates the smartphone experience into the vehicle.

Despite being an internal combustion model, the 2026 Geely Cowboy hasn’t skimped on intelligence. The inclusion of a 14.6-inch screen, Flyme Auto, and L2 driver assistance indicates that Geely continues to push technological updates across its ICE lineup.

Building on that ICE foundation, the 2026 Geely Cowboy enters the market with a limited-time starting price of 75,900 yuan, aiming to carve out a spot in the relatively empty niche of 70,000 yuan trendy urban SUVs.
