Seeds | Differential Robotics Raises Hundreds of Millions of Yuan for Aerial Embodied AI

Edited by Sia From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich-Differential Robotics (Hangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. closed an A2 round worth hundreds of millions of yuan. Puhua Capital led the round, with participation from HLC and the Yangtze River Delta Digital Culture Industry Fund. Existing backers—including 5Y Capital, SCGC, Hongtai Aplus, Meridian Capital, T-Capital, Long Capital, and Baidu Ventures—also increased their stakes. Proceeds will primarily fund product R&D, technical iteration, talent acquisition, and industry scenario expansion.

Founded in July 2024, Differential Robotics was established by Gao Fei. Gao is a tenured associate professor at Zhejiang University’s College of Control Science and Engineering. He focuses on aerial robotics, autonomous navigation, embodied intelligence, and swarm collaboration. In 2025, the company secured nearly 200 million yuan across Pre-A and Pre-A+ rounds. The multiple funding rounds within two years highlight a trend: investment in embodied intelligence is expanding beyond ground-based robots.

Unlike traditional drones that prioritize flight control or single tasks, Differential Robotics integrates environmental perception, task understanding, path planning, motion decision-making, and flight control into a unified model. It also expands multi-drone coordination capabilities. Its products target complex environments such as GPS-denied areas, weak communication zones, and low-light conditions. These products have entered sectors including emergency response, mining, and electric power.

Scientific research capabilities are a key differentiator for Differential Robotics. Public records from Zhejiang University show that Gao Fei’s team published research in *Science Robotics* in 2025 regarding autonomous aerial robot acrobatics. The team successfully executed complex maneuvers without relying on external positioning systems.

A gap remains between technical capability and scalable commercial returns. Demand is clear in emergency response, mining, and power sectors. However, these industries are project-based, with high requirements for reliability, cost control, and delivery. For Differential Robotics, the next challenge involves proving robots can fly autonomously in extreme environments. It must also convert technical advantages into standardized products, sustainable orders, and a replicable business model.
