Seeds | Former Tencent Robotics X Core Member Develops Dexterous Hand, Raises 5 Rounds in One Year

Edited by Taylor From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich-Dexcel Robotics, a high-performance dexterous hand developer, announced on April 15 that it has closed a Pre-A funding round worth over 100 million yuan, according to Gasgoo.

The round was co-led by Fortune Capital and returning investor Primavera Capital, with participation from Ince Capital and Nanshan Zhanxintou. Hony Capital, another existing backer, also oversubscribed. Proceeds will fuel capacity expansion and mass delivery of the Apex Hand, develop the dexterous manipulation platform ecosystem, and drive global expansion — all aimed at solidifying the company's technological edge in high-performance dexterous hands.

This marks the fifth round for Dexcel Robotics in just one year, pushing its total funding to several hundred million yuan.

Founded in November 2024, Dexcel Robotics draws its core team from industry heavyweights like Tencent, Huawei, and DJI, as well as elite institutions including Tsinghua University, the National University of Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, and Beihang University. Founder Yang Sicheng, an alumnus of Beihang University and Tsinghua University, was among the earliest core members of Tencent Robotics X, bringing deep expertise in robotic dexterous manipulation, electromechanical system design, and engineering deployment.

Notably, Dexcel Robotics stands out as one of the few domestic teams capable of full-stack R&D — spanning from zero to one — across dexterous hands, tactile sensors, and manipulation algorithms.

Leveraging its extensive R&D and deployment experience, Dexcel Robotics insists on defining its own core components. By engaging with upstream suppliers at the design stage to specify custom parts, the company collaborates deeply with material vendors and precision manufacturers to build a dedicated supply chain for its dexterous hands.

Beyond that, the company has established a comprehensive quality control and capacity assurance system spanning raw materials to finished products. This ensures every Apex Hand unit maintains high consistency in core metrics like force control, precision, and response speed — meeting industrial-grade delivery standards.

Unveiled in August 2025, the Apex Hand is Dexcel Robotics's inaugural five-finger dexterous hand. Boasting ultra-dexterity, high dynamics, precision, heavy load capacity, full perception, and robustness, the product is designed to address critical industry pain points such as poor reliability and limited interaction capabilities.

Official data indicates that since its launch, the Apex Hand has secured purchase inquiries from hundreds of tech companies and research institutes worldwide. Dexcel Robotics has now officially entered the phase of mass delivery.
