Changan Mazda3 Xingcheng gains five stars from C-NCAP
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 18) - Changan Ford Mazda's Mazda3 Xingcheng received a five star crash test rating from the China-New Car Assessment Program, chinanews.com reported today. The car holds the honor of being the first compact to receive five stars from C-NCAP.
Of the 15 models tested, the Mazda3 (pictured) received the highest marks, gaining 50.2 points. The car's overseas equivalent previous earned five stars in the Euro NCAP and two five star ratings from the NHTSA.
The Mazda3 Xingcheng, the next entry in the Mazda3 line, made its Chinese market debut last August. Ever since its release, the car has managed to pass every safety test it participated in, quickly gaining consumer respect.
Of the 172 models evaluated in the C-NCAP since its inception, only six models have managed to attain a both a five star ranking and relatively high grade.
