Qoros Auto names former Renault-Nissan Alliance executives as CEO, COO
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 21, Chinese automaker Qoros Auto names Kazuo Yajima, former Renault-Nissan Alliance global director of EV and HEV engineering as its CEO. Meanwhile, Li Feng, executive vice president of Baoneng Auto, will no longer be president of Qoros Auto.
According to published records, Kazuo Yajima has joined automobile industry for nearly 30 years and had long worked at Nissan. With rich experience of NEV strategy planning and commercialization, he is one of developers for the Nissan Leaf BEV and the Nissan Fuga PHEV.
Moreover, Qoros Auto also appointed Nagahara Oki, former Renault-Nissan Alliance's global director of vehicle connectivity technology strategy, as its new COO, assisting CEO with the company's operation and management. Toshiro Hirai, the former Infiniti's head of entire vehicle lineup development, has been named as Qoros Auto's co-CTO who will be responsible for R&D of new energy vehicle. Besides, the automaker introduced Liu Qiang, former Nissan's chief technology officer of EV development, as its vice president to preside over product layout and the management of vehicle life cycle and programs.
Qoros Auto said the introduction of Japanese executives is in line with the company's globalization strategy and current industrial transformation. By adding new blood to the management group, it wishes to further improve Qoros's abilities in technology R&D, operation and management, and consolidate its position as a China-owned mid-/high-end car brand.
