NIO to encourage car owners to join Dida Chuxing’s hitching service platform

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese ride-hailing company Dida Chuxing announced earlier the week a cooperation formed with the high-profile EV startup NIO, which encourages NIO's car owners to join its hitching service platform, as part of efforts to enhance Dida's supply of transport capacity.

Under the agreement, Dida will open a fast green examination and approval channel for NIO's users to be qualified to share their empty seats as soon as possible.

Besides, both parties are looking to make more people know the pleasant driving and riding experience of the green hitching service by encouraging car owners and passengers to share their impressive stories via NIO's and Dida' Apps.

By teaming up with several institutions like People Data, Dida Chuxing released in this year's June a blue paper showing that by the end of 2019, there were 17 information platforms in China operating hitching service business in over 400 cities with around 30 million vehicles registered, which accounted for only 21.9% of the current volume of the private cars running on roads.

Bloomberg reported in January that Dida Chuxing was expected to raise up to $300 million in a pre-IPO financing round. However, the company declined to comment then.

According to a local media outlet, in August last year, Dida Chuxing had already begun seeking its last round of financing before an IPO, with a capital requirement of as much as $300 million. A person briefed on the matter revealed that the listing location would be the United States, but the specific timing had not yet been determined yet.
