Volkswagen (Anhui) sets up digitization sales company

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Volkswagen Group China announced that its new subsidiary, Volkswagen (Anhui) Digitization Sales Service Co., Ltd., will soon be established.

The new company was built with the vision of enhancing Volkswagen (Anhui)’s digitization capability in regard to sales and after-sales services. The company will allow the automaker to conduct direct interaction with consumers via various online and offline channels. In addition, the digitization subsidiary will provide multiple digitized add-on services for consumers, including customized mobility services, and V2X services.

The founding of the new company marks the German automaker’s another step in the electrification and mobility fields. The action also signifies the group’s commitment to Anhui province, said Stephan Wöllenstein, CEO of Volkswagen Group China. 

Volkswagen (Anhui) is the German automaker’s new joint venture in China with JAC Group, dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of new energy vehicles. The joint venture is set up to produce pure-electric vehicles enabled by Volkswagen’s MEB modularized electric drive platform. Its factory will be fully constructed by mid-2022, and start producing its first new energy vehicle model in the second half of 2023. 

Furthermore, Volkswagen (Anhui) is currently building a world-class R&D test field for validating vehicle hardware, performance, functionality, and software application. The test field will be put to use in the third quarter of 2022.
