Huawei launches Petal mobility service, kicks off preorder for AITO M5 EV
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Huawei-backed AITO brand kicked off the reservation of its first all-electric model, the M5 EV, with a refundable deposit of RMB1,000 upfront at Huawei’s launch event on July 27th.

According to the CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit, Yu Chengdong, the pure-electric model will make its official debut in September 2022. Preorder of the model has started on AITO’s official website and Huawei Store.
In addition, the ICT giant also introduced its HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system at the event, which also powers Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart cockpit installed on AITO's vehicles. Yu Chengdong disclosed that HarmonyOS-powered equipment has so far exceeded 300 million units.
Moreover, Huawei officially introduced its ride-hailing service, Petal Mobility, at the event. The service can run seamlessly across multiple HarmonyOS-powered devices, including smartphones, watches, tablets, and PCs.
Petal Mobility is an online ride-hailing service platform with third-party fleets. The platform integrates indoor high-precision location technology and AR map technology. The service is currently still in the closed beta test phase, limiting its service reach to four cities in China, namely Beijing, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Hangzhou.
