Geely’s Lynk & Co announces foray into Macau market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Lynk & Co, one of the auto brands under Geely Auto Group, recently announced that it officially entered the market of Macau, China. This milestone was achieved by signing a dealership cooperation agreement with one of the largest car dealerships in Macau, Vang Iek Group, on June 29.

Lynk & Co will introduce several performance models to the market, including the Lynk 03+, 03+ Cyan, and the plug-in hybrid SUV, Lynk 01 EM-P.

Macau, a highly urbanized and international city in China, is known for its strong environmental consciousness among its residents. Consequently, there is a high acceptance rate for new energy vehicles. Given the compact nature of the city, range anxiety - a common concern for electric vehicle users - is virtually non-existent. This characteristic provides an inherent advantage for the development of the new energy vehicle market in the city. Over recent years, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the Macau market has shown a steady upward trend, attracting many Chinese car brands to establish their presence.

To meet the increasing demand for new energy vehicles, the Lynk 01 EM-P PHEV will also be launched there as part of Lynk & Co’s expansion plan in the Macau market. The model is equipped with new Lynk E-Motive technology for hybrid electric power, offering a safe, worry-free choice of new energy vehicles that runs on both gas and electricity.

Vang Iek Group was established in 1935 and has been deeply rooted in the Macau market ever since. It serves as the general agent for multiple globally renowned car brands in the region. According to sources, the first Lynk & Co store in Macau is expected to officially open in November this year.
