Honda Motor’s China retail sales drop 10.1% YoY in 2023
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Honda Motor reported on Jan. 4 a retail sales volume of 165,798 vehicles for its China market for the month of Dec. 2023, which jumped 19.7% year on year and also leapt 55.5% month on month.
As for the full-year performance, the Japanese automaker retailed 1,234,181 vehicles in the world’s largest auto market through 2023, representing a 10.1% year-on-year (YoY) drop.
Breaking down the sales figures by specific joint ventures, GAC Honda sold 620,469 vehicles by retail last year, representing a 13.9% YoY decrease, while Dongfeng Honda saw its annual retail sales dip 5.9% from a year earlier to 613,712 units.

Regarding the sales of hotter-selling models, the CR-V served as the biggest sales contributor with 213,515 vehicles retailed in China throughout 2023. Both the ACCORD and the CIVIC recorded an annual sales volume exceeding 170,000 units last year, coming in at 178,812 units and 177,721 units, respectively. In addition, there were 128,115 BREEZE SUVs and 119,174 INTEGRA sedans sold in the same period.
