Geely's latest patent aims to address existing technical issues by effectively controlling driver’s alcohol consumption, thereby preventing traffic accidents caused by this behavior.
As per the patent abstract, this method combines the first alcohol concentration data and the first driver image data to determine whether they meet preset activation conditions, ensuring the reliability of the judgment and enhancing the safety of the vehicle after activation.
Furthermore, the process of reacquiring the second alcohol concentration data and second driver image data based on the vehicle's current status information and conducting a second test avoids situations of drunk driving after a driver change, further ensuring the effectiveness of controlling driver’s alcohol consumption and enhancing vehicle safety during operation. Additionally, since the retesting is conditional on the current status information, real-time testing is not required, reducing computational load and hardware costs.
In summary, this patent enables the detection of driver alcohol concentration during vehicle startup and operation, utilizing image and alcohol concentration data comparison to determine the driver's compliance with safe driving conditions, thus preventing drunk driving behavior and enhancing road safety.
