Chery Holding boasts 43.7% YoY surge in Apr. auto sales
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Chery Holding sold 182,049 vehicles in April, representing a year-on-year surge of 43.7%. Among them, 89,377 units were sold in overseas markets, rising 18.3% from a year ago.

In the past month, Chery Holding’s new energy vehicles sales totaled 32,995 units, soaring 165.2% year over year.
In the first four months of this year, the automaker’s cumulative sales reached 711,653 units, marking a 55.7% hike compared to a year ago. During the same period, sales of new energy vehicles totaled 93,128 units, indicating a 137.3% year-on-year leap. Additionally, Chery Holding’s year-to-date export volume jumped 34.2% from the previous year to 342,795 units.
As to the monthly performance of each brand, in April, the Chery brand sold 117,726 vehicles, adding up to a total of 482,947 vehicles (+57.5% YoY) sold from January to April.
The EXEED brand sold 8,235 vehicles in April and 31,728 vehicles (+28% YoY) in the Jan.-Apr. period.
In the last month, JETOUR brand sold 37,248 vehicles, resulting in a cumulative volume of 144,724 vehicles from January to April, which shot up 104% year over year.
In regards of Chery’s fresh new energy vehicle brand iCAR, whose debut product, the iCAR 03, was launched just two months ago, gained popularity among trendy young consumers. In April, iCAR’s sales reached 7,524 units, amounting to a cumulative total of 13,011 units so far.
