Shanghai (Gasgoo)- DreamSmart Group, the Geely-affiliated cross-sector platform for full-stack smart terminal technologies, recently announced a strategic partnership with GEESPACE, the satellite technology and commercial services company invested by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

The collaboration will see the launch of the "DreamSmart Lucky Star" satellite, a key development in expanding DreamSmart's capabilities in smart electric vehicles, smartphones, and XR (Extended Reality) technologies.

The "DreamSmart Lucky Star" satellite, developed by GEESPACE, will operate in the third orbit of Geely's Future Mobility Constellation. This satellite will provide broad and reliable communication solutions, supporting the innovative applications of DreamSmart's diverse product portfolio.

In addition to the satellite launch, DreamSmart Group has announced an AI Ecosystem Conference scheduled for September, where it will showcase the achievements of its "All in AI" strategy.

The ongoing transformation within the smart mobility industry is no longer driven by isolated technological advances. Instead, it represents a fusion of innovations across artificial intelligence, satellite communication, seamless interaction, and cross-industry connectivity. As 5G technology transitions to 6G, the exploration of integrated "sky-earth" communication networks is emerging as a crucial direction for future development. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, in particular, play a vital role in providing high-precision positioning services, which are essential for refining autonomous driving technologies.

Geely has been an early mover in satellite communication technology. GEESPACE, a technological innovation subsidiary of Geely Holding Group and the primary entity behind Geely's satellite projects, was established in 2018. The company is dedicated to building a global LEO satellite communication network known as the Geely Future Mobility Constellation. The first phase of the constellation, comprising 72 satellites, is designed to offer real-time data communication services worldwide.

In June 2022, the first nine satellites of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation were successfully launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center via a "one arrow, nine satellites" deployment. This was followed in February 2024 by the successful launch of 11 more satellites from the same center, marking the second orbital plane of the constellation.
