GAC Group sees new energy vehicle sales jump 33.32% YoY in Feb. 2025
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group recorded a sales volume of 98,721 vehicles in February 2025, representing a slight growth of 0.33% year-on-year and 0.29% month-on-month.
Of the vehicles the group sold last month, 19,175 units were contributed by the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, indicating a jump of 33.32% from a year earlier.
Passenger vehicle (PV) sector logged a sales volume of 98,607 vehicles in the month, basically remaining flat over the year-ago period (+0.25%). Regarding the performance by specific vehicle types, both the sedan and MPV segments faced a year-on-year decline of 5.61% and 7.65%, with 28,510 and 13,233 vehicles sold in this period, respectively. In addition, the group's SUV sales amounted to 56,864 units, which climbed 5.63% from a year ago.
By the sales performance of specific subsidiaries, GAC Toyota ranked highest by February sales volume, but it faced a year-on-year drop of 10.05%. GAC Honda attainted a 1.95% increase over a year earlier with 29,676 vehicles sold in the month. What's more, GAC Trumpchi's February sales edged down 0.12% over the prior-year period to 18,449 units, while GAC AION boasted a remarkable 44.73% surge year-on-year by selling 14,482 vehicles.

For the first two months of 2025, GAC Group sold 197,158 vehicles in total, which shrank 14.42% over the previous year. Of those, 29,080 units were NEVs, displaying a year-on-year decline of 12.27%.
On February 8, ADiGO SENSE, GAC Group's cloud-device integrated AI model, successfully merged with the DeepSeek-R1 large model, marking a major upgrade in its capabilities. The enhanced system is scheduled to go live in the first half of this year, gradually rolling out across models from HYPTEC, Trumpchi, and AION. The group said this integration aims to redefine in-car intelligence, transforming vehicles from reactive tools into intelligent companions that anticipate user needs.
Looking ahead, 22 fire new models from GAC Group's self-owned brands will debut over the next three years, covering all mainstream new energy vehicle-related powertrains. Of those, seven models are set for market launch in 2025. In the first half of this year, alongside the AION UT and Trumpchi S7, which have already hit the market or begun pre-sales, the HYPTEC HL will start pre-sales on March 18.
