Hongqi launches new models in UAE, Bahrain

Beijing (Gasgoo)- FAW Group's passenger vehicle brand Hongqi recently launched its H9, HS7, and H6 vehicle models in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and other Gulf nations, the automaker announced on March 25 via WeChat.

As key markets in the region, the UAE and Bahrain offer strategic advantages with their prime locations, strong economies, and mature automotive markets. These countries have long been pivotal for Chinese automakers expanding internationally. The UAE launch event was held in Abu Dhabi on the scenic Saadiyat Island, where the HS7 and H6 models were introduced. In Bahrain, the H9, HS7, and H6 were unveiled in the capital city of Manama.

The three models were strategically chosen to cater to the economic and cultural characteristics of Gulf markets. The H9, Hongqi's flagship sedan, offers a bold design and a luxurious driving experience tailored for high-net-worth individuals in the Middle East. The HS7, a mid-to-large SUV featuring a rugged design, spacious interior, and intelligent all-wheel drive, targets families and driving enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the H6, a sporty coupe-style sedan, combines high-performance capabilities, advanced technology, and versatile practicality, making it an appealing choice for young consumers in the region.  

Hongqi's global expansion has maintained strong momentum, with overseas sales doubling for five consecutive years and achieving a compound annual growth rate of 151% in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, Hongqi aims to drive growth through both brand development and product innovation. The successful launches in the UAE and Bahrain will further strengthen Hongqi's premium positioning in the Middle East, complementing its existing presence in Saudi Arabia and Oman.
