GAC Group, CATL sign 10-year comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Nov. 10, GAC Group and CATL signed a 10-year comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement at GAC Group's headquarters in Panyu, Guangzhou. The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both sides in intelligent manufacturing, technology innovation, and market resources to build a systematic industrial ecosystem and foster a new pattern of coordinated growth in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector.

Under the agreement, the two companies will deepen collaboration in intelligent chassis systems, battery swapping, and next-generation battery technologies. GAC Group's vehicle brands will jointly develop competitive NEV products utilizing CATL's latest energy solutions. The two sides will also cooperate in battery leasing, joint station construction, and shared energy services, promoting business model innovation across the value chain.

In line with the principles of equality, mutual benefit, and resource sharing, GAC Group and CATL have established a framework for long-term, multi-level collaboration. Their cooperation covers battery technology R&D, swapping ecosystem development, and electrification platform innovation, providing robust support for high-quality industry growth.

The partnership follows the launch of the AION UT super, an electric vehicle model jointly developed by GAC AION, CATL, and JD.com. Featuring CATL's Choco-SEB battery-swap technology and GAC Group's intelligent manufacturing capabilities, the AION UT super is exclusively sold via JD.com, pioneering a direct-to-consumer retail model for NEVs.
