NavInfo partners with CAIC for intelligent vehicle development

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s navigation product supplier NavInfo inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Automotive Innovation Corporation (CAIC) for long-term partnership in high-precision map, location-based service, chip, smart cockpit, and autonomous driving fields.

Leveraging each company’s industrial resources, technological advantages, and capital operation, the duo will lower the production cost of high-precision maps while achieving dynamic update.

In the automotive chip segment, NavInfo and CAIC will work on the joint definition, development, promotion, and application of next-generation chips, exploring innovative industrial cooperation models.

In the meantime, the partners will carry out in-depth cooperation in operating systems, cabin SoC chips, smart cockpit related products, smart mobility services, on-board big data applications, AR creator, and cabin AI algorithms.

Regarding autonomous driving development, the two sides will jointly develop and deploy advanced intelligent driving software and hardware integration solutions, further facilitating large-scale application of autonomous driving technologies.

The cooperation with CAIC is expected to enhance NavInfo’s overall competitiveness in the said technology fields.

With a joint investment of RMB16 billion, CAIC was established by China South Industries Group Co., Ltd, China FAW Group Co., Ltd, Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd, Changan Automobile Co., Ltd, and Nanjing Jiangning Economic Development Zone Technology Co., Ltd. Positioned as a national industrial technology innovation platform, CAIC focuses on the development of intelligent chassis, new energy, and intelligent connected vehicles.
