Horizon Robotics, GAC AION join hands to boost automotive intelligence development

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Horizon Robotics and GAC AION inked an all-around strategic cooperation agreement on January 17 regarding automotive intelligence product applications.

According to the agreement, GAC AION will build cutting-edge intelligent products based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey series chips, and focus on the R&D and application of intelligent driving and smart cockpit interactive platform, in a bid to provide users with a smarter onboard experience. Currently, AION vehicles equipped with Horizon Robotics’ Journey 2 chip have gone into mass production. The two companies are exploring the possibilities based on the entire Journey chip series, including the Journey 5.

In fact, Horizon Robotics has maintained a healthy partnership with GAC AION. In April 2021, the AION Y hit the market. As AION’s first model launched after its newly-gained independence, the AION Y is equipped with Horizon Robotics’ Journey 2 chip, bringing consumers a safe, intelligent, and natural onboard experience.

The newly-inked comprehensive strategic cooperation this time will allow Horizon Robotics， through chip solutions, automotive intelligence development platform, and an open mature cooperation pattern, to further help GAC AION establish its comprehensive intelligent R&D capability, as well as accelerate the development of its high-end intelligent electric vehicle brand.
