The permit was presented during the launch ceremony for promoting the innovation and application of driverless intelligent connected vehicles in Pudong New Area, Shanghai.
Since 2018, TuSimple has been conducting autonomous driving freight testing projects in Shanghai’s Lin-gang Special Area. Currently, TuSimple has been conducting routine testing on the route of "Yangshan Port Phase IV Terminal-Donghai Bridge-Shenshui Port Logistics Park", for container transportation. Its autonomous driving heavy-duty trucks have achieved whole-route autonomous driving from the port area and highways to logistics parks.
As of February 2023, TuSimple's testing distance in Lin-gang Special Area has exceeded 580,000 kilometers, with zero traffic accidents and zero traffic violations, further proving its system stability and safety level.
TuSimple has developed key technologies such as automatic container loading and unloading, task information exchange systems, and automatic gate passage in the port area. It has also established a scenario library to test out traffic conditions, continuously optimizing the robustness and adaptability of its intelligent heavy-duty truck system in different scenarios.
