This permit allows AutoX to conduct fully autonomous RoboTaxi commercial operations on a 168-square-kilometer land in Pingshan District, Shenzhen. It came after the company obtained approval for commercial operations in Shanghai last month.
This groundbreaking pilot program in Pingshan District showcases true fully autonomous RoboTaxi demonstration operations, where there are no human occupants in the vehicle, including the absence of safety drivers in the front or rear seats.
Users will be able to hail an AutoX's fully autonomous RoboTaxi in real-time through the AutoX mobile app, and the entire process will be seamlessly integrated into paid commercial services, providing users with safe, high-end, and chauffeur-level RoboTaxi transportation.
The vehicle deployed for this pilot program is the AutoX Gen5 RoboTaxi, which is built on the Chrysler FCA Pacifica minivan. It is equipped with the latest fifth-generation autonomous driving system, AutoX Gen5, featuring the world's highest-resolution automotive-grade sensors, AutoX XCU self-developed core computing platform, and an autonomous driving domain electronic and electrical architecture. With a computing power of 2200 TOPS, it incorporates redundant full-stack architecture for functional safety at the vehicle-grade level, ensuring genuine fully autonomous driving capabilities.
