Changan Automobile, Baidu inaugurate joint AI data center

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 16, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) and Baidu formed an in-depth partnership targeting such fields as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

This joint endeavor aims to propel Changan Automobile's evolution into a technology-driven intelligent and low-carbon mobility company. Leveraging Baidu's cutting-edge capabilities, including the groundbreaking ERNIE AI large model, the partnership will span various domains, from R&D, supply, and services, thereby further elevating Changan's prowess in intelligent advancements.

Simultaneously, the Changan Artificial Intelligence Data Center, a joint establishment between Changan and Baidu, was formally inaugurated. Powered by Baidu's intelligent cloud and the Baige AI heterogeneous computing platform, the center boasts a computational capacity of a staggering 1.42 exaflops per second. This capability not only bolsters R&D in intelligent connected vehicles and autonomous driving but also accelerates model training speeds by up to 125 times. 

The Changan Artificial Intelligence Data Center unifies Changan Automobile's intelligent computing resources, achieving over 40% improvement in GPU resource utilization and significantly expediting the progress of autonomous driving R&D.

The Changan Artificial Intelligence Data Center extends its support beyond Changan Automobile's internal needs. It fosters the development of intelligent data storage and analysis systems, AI-powered assistants, and new energy supervision systems for vehicle owners and enterprises, thereby enhancing technical support and data underpinning for new vehicle model development and cultivating enhanced driving experiences for customers.

In the future, the collaborative endeavor between Changan Automobile and Baidu will continue to flourish in four pivotal areas, including AI platforms, AI applications, AI data cooperation, and AI talent development. This partnership will not only elevate Changan's proficiency in AI but will also extend into intelligent manufacturing, smart marketing, and intelligent customer service, further bolstering the company's product and service competitiveness. 

Notably, based on Baidu's ERNIE AI large model, the duo is now developing a new AI-driven product. The product will be deployed onto one of Changan Automobile’s mass-produced vehicle models.
