SAIC Z-One, SAIC Volkswagen build joint innovation center

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 21, SAIC Z-One, the automotive intelligence arm of SAIC Motor, and SAIC Volkswagen officially inaugurated their joint innovation center.

This alliance leverages the strengths of both entities to drive research and practical application of innovative intelligent car technologies, fostering cooperation and mutual success in the burgeoning field of smart vehicles.

SAIC Volkswagen boasts a strong presence in brand appeal, market share, and comprehensive vehicle manufacturing expertise. Meanwhile, SAIC Z-One possesses advanced full-stack technology R&D capabilities in the smart car sector, coupled with extensive experience in software and hardware delivery. Together, they will capitalize on the joint innovation center to collaborate comprehensively, spanning areas such as intelligent car product definition, software and hardware development, process systems, and operational maintenance. 

The establishment of the joint innovation research center will accelerate the R&D of intelligent car technology and products for SAIC Volkswagen. This mutually beneficial collaboration will enable both partners to work efficiently together, creating a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership that expedites SAIC Volkswagen's transition into intelligent innovation.

In the realm of smart vehicles, SAIC Z-One remains dedicated to user and customer value, focusing on delivering cost-effective, market-competitive full-stack solutions and products. The company’s Z -One Galaxy Full-stack Solution 3.0 will feature the ZOS intelligent operating system and the integrated central brain ZXD, achieving a unified approach across four domains, cabin, driving, computation, and connectivity. This results in half the domain controllers, a fivefold increase in data bandwidth, a 30% reduction in wiring, a 70% boost in OTA speed, and deep integration with the IoT ecosystem. The Z -One Galaxy Full-stack Solution 3.0 and products are set to be deployed onto IM Motors’ vehicles in 2025.
