WeRide deploys Inner Mongolia’s first Robotaxi fleet in Ordos

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 15, Chinese autonomous driving solution developer WeRide, successfully concluded a month and a half of public open testing operations with the first autonomous driving fleet deployed in Inner Mongolia.

The fleet will continue traversing the streets of Kangbashi District in Ordos City, offering a novel travel experience to local residents.

WeRide introduced several autonomous taxi (Robotaxi) units in Kangbashi District, Ordos City, deploying 42 stations covering the district's main areas. The ongoing plan includes expanding the test range, adding popular stations until complete coverage is achieved across Kangbashi District.

Equipped with 360-degree perception capabilities covering a linear distance of 200 meters, WeRide's Robotaxis feature a suite of sensors, including LiDAR and side blind-spot LiDAR, alongside high-precision cameras for all-day, all-weather, and all-scenario operation.

The company also utilizes cloud-based integration of perception services, leveraging extensive data sources and long-range data acquisition. This fusion provides the Robotaxis with long-range multi-source perception data, including real-time signal data, enhancing driving safety in boundary scenarios. Beyond the backend safety monitoring systems, the remote driving cabin at the dispatch center allows real-time monitoring and remote troubleshooting, adding an extra layer of security to the autonomous fleet.

Aligned with the vision for carbon neutrality, WeRide's deployed Robotaxis are purely electric, emitting zero tailpipe emissions throughout their lifecycle, facilitating local endeavors towards low-carbon, eco-friendly transportation.
