BAIC Group cooperates with CICV for automotive intelligence advancement

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 13, BAIC Group and CICV inked a strategic cooperation framework, aiming for in-depth collaboration in advanced autonomous driving and intelligent connectivity aspects.

This agreement outlines five key collaboration directions: establishing a scenario library for high-level autonomous driving, constructing simulation test verification, creating user experience evaluation standards, integrating next-gen autonomous driving platform technology, handling intelligent connected vehicle access responses, policy research, and investigating new intelligent connected technology industry insights and developmental trends.

In 2019, CICV, approved by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, formed the National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles, the nation's inaugural national manufacturing innovation center in the intelligent connected vehicle domain. This center aggregates top-tier domestic and international talent, focusing on constructing a national think tank, developing common technology, establishing service platforms, fostering innovative ecosystems, and translating research outcomes. Its aim is to continuously lead and support industry development, enhancing the global position of China's intelligent connected vehicles and related industries in the value chain.

BAIC Group, in recent years, has streamlined resource optimization, rejuvenated core competencies, strategically planned for the new energy vehicle industry, actively researched forward-looking technologies like intelligent networking and big data, reinforcing the core competitiveness for its wholly-owned brands. This aligns with its strategic transformation from a traditional manufacturing-oriented enterprise to a manufacturing-service and innovation-oriented entity.

Both entities commit to establishing a cooperative mechanism, fostering close collaboration, innovating cooperation models and mechanisms, boosting R&D capabilities, and propelling the execution and profound development of their strategic partnership.
