This expansion, within just two months of initiating the Shanghai urban intelligent driving service, marks the first time a domestic automotive enterprise has implemented urban intelligent driving functions through a "pure vision" route across four cities.
Equipped with the BEV+Transformer "pure vision" scheme, the Robocar maker’s first production model, the Ji Yue 01, relies on solely visual perception algorithms. The Point to Point Autopilot (PPA) function is currently available in Shanghai, covering major roads in the city and extending to 90% of the national highways across China, offering an immediate experience upon delivery.
The upcoming upgrade of Baidu’s OCC occupancy network technology promises a comprehensive enhancement of high-level urban smart driving capabilities.
Moreover, the V1.3 software upgrade will notably boost the "pure vision" intelligent driving capabilities of the vehicle, unlocking more efficient overtaking, crossing yellow dashed lines to use opposite lanes for obstacle avoidance, and lane changes into bus lanes with noted restricted hours, significantly enhancing daily commuting efficiency. The algorithm reconstruction for parking scenarios will improve the Ji Yue 01's ability to handle complex situations, optimizing efficiency in dead-end parking scenarios and enhancing the overall parking experience.
Powered by Baidu Apollo’s autonomous driving atomization capabilities, Ji Yue becomes the first intelligent automotive brand in China to successfully implement urban intelligent driving solution using a "pure vision" approach across four cities.
Starting January 19, 2024, the gradual rollout of the V1.3 new software upgrade will commence. By 2024, Ji Yue’s advanced urban intelligent driving functions will progressively extend its coverage to over 200 cities nationwide. Starting December 29, the PPA intelligent driving will go live in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou.
