SAIC-GM launches RoboTest autonomous vehicle testing platform

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 6, SAIC General Motors (SAIC-GM) announced the launch of its RoboTest autonomous vehicle testing platform, which has been systematically implemented at the Guangde Proving Ground.

The RoboTest platform enables comprehensive and multi-angle testing of vehicles, significantly improving testing efficiency and accuracy. This innovative platform is expected to shorten the automotive R&D cycle, accelerating the market introduction of new products.

The RoboTest platform consists of a vehicle-side controller and a cloud-based control center. The vehicle-side controller integrates a driving robot system, high-precision perception systems, and intelligent control systems, equipped with centimeter-level positioning devices, high-resolution radar, and cameras. The cloud-based control center provides real-time monitoring and management of test data analysis and quality assessment.

The high precision and durability of the RoboTest platform notably enhance test quality and verification efficiency, speeding up the development, validation, and market launch of new vehicles. The platform ensures more stable vehicle performance, offering more reliable products. The average absolute deviation in endurance testing for the driving robot is only 0.267 km/h, significantly lower than the 0.9 km/h deviation observed with manual testing. Additionally, the robot's standard deviation and extreme values in durability testing outperformed manual operations, providing greater stability. Fuel throttle test accuracy can be improved by 50%, with full automatic throttle adjustment executed at millisecond speeds and a precision of 0.1%.

The highly versatile and flexible RoboTest platform can accommodate 100% of SAIC-GM models and meet the testing needs of most competitor vehicles. The system can be fully utilized in durability, noise, emission, thermodynamics, and performance testing (such as new energy endurance) in durability bench test labs.
