Beijing (Gasgoo)- Recently, scenario-based autonomous driving solution provider SENIOR was awarded one of the first intelligent connected vehicle road test permits in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. The Ningbo Public Security Bureau will issue temporary licenses for these companies' self-driving vehicles, allowing them to conduct road tests, demonstration applications, and pilot operations in designated areas.

This follows SENIOR's earlier acquisition of a similar permit in the city of Tianjin.

Ningbo is a key region for SENIOR's autonomous driving operations. The unmanned transportation project at Ningbo Port's Daxie Terminal marks SENIOR's first and largest paid operational order in China. Since passing nearly a thousand entry tests in June 2020 and beginning operations, SENIOR has maintained a record of 48 months of continuous, accident-free service, setting a benchmark in large-scale unmanned transportation.

As the only pan-port autonomous driving company to receive Ningbo’s first batch of road test permits, SENIOR will lead the industry in integrating unmanned transportation capabilities in closed and semi-open environments. The company will leverage road test data and experience to enhance the operational efficiency of its existing fleet in mixed traffic conditions.

Founded in 2020, SENIOR focuses on developing, integrating, and applying advanced autonomous driving solutions for logistics scenarios. The company specializes in unmanned driving technology, including core algorithms, software platforms, hardware systems, and autonomous driving kits. SENIOR has deployed over 220 unmanned transport vehicles and secured commercial orders from nine ports, being the only company capable of transporting various goods such as containers, iron ore, coal, grain, steel coils, and pulp bundles in ports, bulk cargo centers, factory parks, and short-haul scenarios.
