UISEE launches apron autonomous driving pilot at Beijing Daxing International Airport
Beijing (Gasgoo)- UISEE, in collaboration with Beijing Daxing International Airport and China Southern Airlines Ground Services, has officially launched North China's first apron autonomous driving pilot project. This initiative also marks the first apron autonomous driving pilot in China led and participated in by an airline.

The pilot program covers two operational scenarios: a fully indoor route from China Southern Airlines' oversized baggage transfer area to various sorting carousels, and a mixed indoor-outdoor route from the airline's domestic baggage sorting area to the aircraft stand 137 storage zone. The project aims to assess the feasibility of unmanned baggage transportation and provide insights for the airport's future large-scale deployment of autonomous vehicles.
The trial utilizes UISEE's L4 autonomous baggage tractor, the T30AL, developed to meet civil aviation standards. Equipped with UISEE's latest U-Drive® intelligent driving system, the vehicle integrates four LiDAR sensors, six HD cameras, RTK high-precision positioning, and an inertial navigation system. This setup enables autonomous driving, intelligent perception, lane changing, obstacle avoidance, emergency braking, and precise docking. It also features geofencing and anti-tampering measures to ensure safe and efficient apron operations with minimal human intervention.
UISEE's airport unmanned vehicle solutions have been deployed at over 20 major airports worldwide, including Hong Kong International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, and Singapore Changi Airport, accumulating more than 2 million kilometers of fully autonomous apron driving.
