Zhejiang constructs solar road providing electricity for EVs

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Many domestic cities are accelerating to popularize electric vehicles but facing several obstacles such as charging difficulties.Currently, a solar road with global maximum load is completed in the park of Shaoxing Lanting Solar Energy Scientific and Technological Company Ltd., Zhejiang Province. 

The road is paved with solar-energy batteries, which will transfer solar energy into electricity and electromagnetic waves. Vehicles equipping with wireless charging module will receive the wave signals for charging. Insufficient power supply in rainy days could be solved by the electricity stored on sunny days. Besides, the solar energy road could melt snows when the weather is bad.

It is known that different functional trials should be made on solar energy roads in the future to improve technologies. Initial investment for the road is 30% higher than ordinary roads, but the road could have a lift time of more than 20 years with convenient maintenance. But there is no time schedule on the practical use of solar energy road yet.
