XPeng starts to construct Zhaoqing base with investment of RMB 10 billion

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- XPeng Auto intelligent network technology industrial park (Zhaoqing Base) started construction on the afternoon of December 11th. With a total area of 2 million square meters, the industrial park will focus on BEV models in new energy transportation area and develop itself into a comprehensive and modern industrial park involving autonomous driving R&D and demonstration, intelligent connected big data platform, auto R&D, auto parts manufacturing, supply chain cooperation, vehicle production, trial experiments, international business, auto service trade and other businesses.

Vehicle production project occupy an area of 1 million square meters with an investment of RMB 10 billion. According to plan, the first phase of project will occupy an area of 600,000 square meters with an investment of RMB 4 billion. The second phase will have an investment of RMB 6 billion. It’s expected that the first phase of project will provide an annual capacity of 200,000 units after completion.

He Xiaopeng, board chairman of XPeng Auto, believes that, “China has accumulated great funds, policies and scientific talents in the fast developments of Internet and transportation. Global auto manufacturers will also gradually transform into transportation service providers involving manufacturing and operation. XPeng Auto shows its determination to become a pioneer and leader in becoming Internet auto industry by locating the industrial park in Zhaoqing. XPeng Auto will provide different transportation services to domestic and overseas customers in auto manufacturing, automatic driving and Internet by new ways of retails and operation.”

In July, 2017, XPeng Auto obtained product approval from MIIT and successfully achieved in-depth cooperation with Haima Auto. The first batch of vehicles in mass production rolled off production line in October. On December 3rd, the first vehicle from XPeng Auto was driven on road with license plates by He Xiaopeng, who became the first driver of XPeng 1.0 Geek version. In 2018, XPeng plans to launch the 2.0 version model to consumers with different design, interior decoration, safety measures, automatic driving and Internet abilities, thus providing practical and reliable driving experiences.
