Li Xiang also noted Li Auto's in-house developed autonomous driving system will all be armed with the computing platform with 508 TOPS of computing power and LiDAR. He revealed the system can compete head-on with the counterparts from Huawei and Tesla next year.
Tesla's models currently carry the FSD (full self-driving) computer running at 144 TOPS, which has so far been the No.1 mass-produced autonomous driving platform in terms of computing power.
Huawei launched on April 18 the intelligent driving computing platform MDC810, which boasts up to 400 TOPS and the availability to many high-level autonomous driving scenarios like AVP (automatic valet parking).
Li Auto currently has only one model for sale, namely the Li ONE REEV (range-extended electric vehicle). Starting from 2022, the startup will launch at least two new products each year onward and expects to launch its first BEV model in 2023, Li Xiang, said in Feb. at the Q4 2020 earnings call.
Prices of the Li ONE range from 300,000 yuan ($46,160) to 350,000 yuan ($53,850). In the future, the company will make its product portfolio covering a wider price range from 150,000 yuan ($23,080) to 500,000 yuan ($76,930), according to Li.
