HOZON Auto sees first model armed with Horizon Robotics’ chips go on sale

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 6, HOZON Auto, the Chinese startup behind the EV brand NETA, put the 2022 version of two main models, namely, the NETA U·Zhi and the NETA V·Chao, onto the market, expecting to maintain its blooming sales growth with an updated product matrix.

Coming with six trim levels, the NETA U·Zhi features a guidance price range of 117,800 yuan ($18,520) to 179,800 yuan ($28,270). According to the automaker, the new NETA U features a Level 2.5+ advanced driver assistance system that consists of 1 high-definition monocular camera, 4 surround-view cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 1 parking domain controller.

As part of efforts to deliver a great smart driving experience, the automaker also equips the model with Horizon Robotics' Journey 3 automotive-grade chip, which records an AI performance of 5 TOPs with a typical power rating of 2.5W.

Notably, the NETA U·Zhi is the first model developed under the cooperation between HOZON Auto and Horizon Robotics. The two companies forged a strategic partnership in September 2021, under which the technology startup would offer the automaker its high-performance automotive-grade chips and relevant technical supports.

The NETA V·Chao is offered in five trim levels, which are priced between 74,900 yuan ($11,780) and 93,900 yuan ($14,760). As an affordable BEV model priced below 100,000 yuan ($15,720), it features several amenities and capabilities which are rarely seen on other models of the same level, such as the 14.6-inch console-mounted screen, the minimalistic interior design devoid of physical dials, and the V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging function.
