Car and City: Foshan tops other cities by April 2022 registrations of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In April 2022, the registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), stood at 25,279 units, edging down 3.6% year on year, while also plunging 40.6% month on month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).
Regarding April 2022 registration volume, the Hongguang MINIEV was still credited the best-performing locally-made new energy passenger vehicle (NEPV) model in China. It was also the only China-made NEPV model whose registrations exceeded 20,000 units last month.
As of April 2022, the cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV added up to 631,383 units, 125,312 units were registered in the first four months of the year.
With 893 units registered in April, Foshan was the No.1 city by monthly registrations of the hottest-selling NEPV model. Compared to the previous month, Liuzhou, where the Hongguang MINIEV is mass-produced, dropped one spot to the runner-up place.

Among the top 10 cities by April registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV, six are provincial capital cities, namely, Nanning (4th), Chengdu (5th), Zhengzhou (6th), Shijiazhuang (8th), Wuhan (9th), and Hangzhou (10th).
None of the four first-tier cities— Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen— entered the top 10 cities list in April 2022.
