Gotion High-Tech starts production at battery cathode material base in Lujiang

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Gotion High-Tech saw its high-end battery cathode material manufacturing base in Lujiang county, Hefei city started operation on June 8, the battery maker announced via its WeChat account.

The project is managed by Hefei Gotion Kehong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which is 90% held by Hefei Gotion High-Tech Power Energy Co.,Ltd. Covering a floorage of around 120,000 square meters, the new facility is located in Lujiang High-tech Industry Development Zone. Beginning in August 2021, the construction works are set to be conducted in four phases.

According to Gotion High-Tech, the Lujiang-based plant will focus on manufacturing the company's in-house developed high-performance lithium iron phosphate cathode materials, which satisfy the needs of battery cells with an energy density of 210Wh/kg and above. The facility is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 200,000-tonne cathode materials after it becomes fully operational.

Gotion High-Tech is speeding up its deployment of upstream battery resources, which have already covered most lithium ion battery raw materials, including lithium, cobalt, nickel, precursor, ternary material, LFP material, lithium titanate, cathode, anode, copper foil, seperator, electrolyte, and additive. It has so far deployed five battery material manufacturing bases, which are located in Lujiang and Feidong counties of Anhui province, Yichun city of Jiangxi province, Wuhai city of Inner Mongolia, and Jujuy province of Argentina.
