XPeng launches S4 super-fast charging pile

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- As of August 15, 2022, XPeng has already deployed 1,000 self-operated charging stations across China, including 799 supercharging stations and 201 destination charging stations, the EV startup announced today at the supercharging technology launch event.

Currently, XPeng's charging network has tapped all prefecture-level cities and direct-administered municipalities of China.

According to He Xiaopeng, chairman of XPeng, the startup has already rolled out such charging products as the 7kW/11kW home charging pile, the 20kW DC charging pile, the S2 180kW supercharging pile, etc.

At the event, Mr. He announced the first S4 super-fast charging pile had come online, which can run at up to 480kW and 670A.

As for the XPeng G9, whose presale just kicked off last week, the newly-launched charging facility can work at a maximum rate of 400kW and offers the vehicle a 200km of CLTC range through a five-minute charging session.

XPeng will start deploying the S4 super-fast charging points in 2022 in the top 10 cities by the order volumes of the XPeng G9. Next year, the startup will focus on exploring the building of S4 charging facilities in key cities and along core expressways. XPeng expects to build another 2,000 own-brand super-fast charging stations by 2025.
