Tencent’s QQ Music to offer NIO vehicles Dolby Atmos music service

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Tencent's music streaming platform QQ Music today announced it would offer the in-car Dolby Atmos music service to NIO’s car users, becoming China's first music platform to provide its partner auto brand with such service.

QQ Music will install Dolby Atmos music system in the NIO-branded models equipped with the Banyan smart operating system, allowing NIO’s car users to enjoy the immersive music experience through an OTA (over-the-air) upgrade.

The collaboration with NIO signifies that QQ Music's application scenarios of high-quality music resources have been further enriched, said the Tencent-owned music platform.

On July 6, 2022, Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME) and Dolby Laboratories, a leader in immersive entertainment experiences, announced the availability of Dolby Atmos on QQ Music. The cooperation made QQ Music the first domestic Chinese music platform to integrate Dolby Atmos, which is available now to QQ Music SVIP subscribers.

Upon the launch, users can experience a robust and growing catalog of top and iconic songs in Dolby Atmos. In addition, QQ Music's Dolby Atmos library will cover a wide range of music genres, such as Pop, Classical, Rock, Electronic, Hip Hop, and more.

Notably, NIO announced last November that Dolby Atmos would come standard on all NIO ET7s, the EV maker's smart flagship electric sedan. Moreover, NIO Radio, an exclusive Radio for NIO users, would also support Dolby Atmos.
