HOZON Auto sets up ‘Haozhi’ tech subsidiary working on auto parts, software R&D, production

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- HOZON Auto, the owner of the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) brand NETA, recently set up a technology subsidiary, which is likely to operate businesses under its fresh technology brand "Haozhi".

According to the corporate information inquiry platform Tianyancha, the newborn company, named Haozhi Range Extension Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., ("Haozhi Technology") was incorporated on Jan. 15, 2023 with a registered capital of 40 million yuan ($5.907 million). It is wholly-owned by Hozon New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. (namely, the aforesaid HOZON Auto).

Information from Tianyancha shows that Haozhi Technology features a line of businesses that includes the R&D of automotive components, development of AI-enabled application software, as well as the manufacturing of electronic components, electromechanical modules, gears, gearboxes, micro special electric motors, etc.

As the new company's name includes "Haozhi", it is surmised that Haozhi Technology was set up to boost NETA's technology development under the "Haozhi" technology brand the company launched on Nov. 21, 2022.

The Haozhi brand has three sub-brands pivoting around intelligent super computing platform, electric drive system, and range extension system.

The Haozhi super computing platform rides on a centralized computing architecture which can synergize four zone controllers and an SOA (service-oriented architecture). Compatible with the models built on different vehicle platforms, the new super computing platform is expected for installation into complete vehicles in 2024.

Under the Haozhi Electric Drive sub-brand, HOZON Auto launched an 800V SiC high-performance electric drive system which is composed of three parts: a SiC electric control unit, an oil cooling flat wire electric motor, and a high-tooth gear reducer.

In addition, the Haozhi three-in-one range extender features four technical traits, namely, compact design, lower cost, higher efficiency, and lower loudness. It comes with four powertrain solutions: all-electric, driven by range extender plus battery charging, driven by both range extender and batteries, and the "Safety Guardian".
