Audi to start production of Audi Q6 e-tron in China in 2024

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Markus Duesmann, the Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Audi AG, visited China for the first time on March 9-10, and celebrated the grand opening of the all-new Audi China office building in Beijing, according to official news from Audi China.

Audi will launch the Audi Q6 e-tron, which is based on the PPE luxury electric platform, globally in the second half of this year. The Audi Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron series electric vehicles will be produced locally in China at Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. in 2024. 

Audi also mentioned that the group's investment in Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. reached as high as 2.6 billion euros. Through the Audi PPE model, the German auto giant will further enhance its presence in the Chinese electric vehicle market.

Moreover, Audi emphasized that the uniqueness of the Chinese market is incomparable. No other region in the world has such thriving electrification transformation, high level of digitalization, and rapid innovation speed, said the company. 

When formulating global strategies, Audi attaches more importance to its business in China to jointly consolidate Audi's leading position in the world’s largest auto market. The inauguration of the new Audi China building demonstrates the automaker’s commitment to China through practical actions. The company plans to further improve the intelligence level of its electric and oil-fueled products.
