NIO, Tuopu Group to cooperate on R&D, manufacturing, supply of NEV auto parts

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese auto parts supplier Ningbo Tuopu Group announced on March 16 it has signed a framework agreement with the new energy vehicle startup NIO to carry out the strategic cooperation on the R&D, manufacturing, and supply of NEV-related auto parts. 

Under the framework agreement, Toupu and NIO will conduct in-depth collaboration in decarbonization, digital transparency, and global business development. Besides, Tuopu will supply components near NIO’s plants in Hefei city, the capital of China’s Anhui province.

Currently, both parties will engage in multidimensional cooperation in products such as chassis systems, vehicle lightweight, thermal management systems, interior & exterior systems, and NVH damping systems,

In addition, the duo will also have cooperation discussions in such areas as intelligent cockpit components, air suspension system, and intelligent driving system.

Moreover, the two companies will also jointly boost further the cooperation in brand promotion, product marketing, technology improvement, quality cultivation, customer service, and talent pool development.

In Dec. 2022, Tuopu broke ground on its smart manufacturing factory in Shouxian county, Anhui province, which would serve such automakers as NIO and BYD.

Located at Xinqiao International Industrial Park in Shouxian county, Huainan city, the factory involves a total planned investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($217.776 million) and features an annual designed production capacity of 500,000 sets of lightweight chassis and 500,000 complete vehicle acoustic kits.
