GAC AION receives over 10,000-unit orders for 2023 AION Y Plus/S Plus in two days

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION, the new energy vehicle (NEV) subsidiary of GAC Group, announced via its WeChat account that the combined order volume of the 2023 AION Y Plus and the 2023 AION S Plus reached 10,033 units in only 48 hours after the two new facelifts hit the market on Mar. 31.

With six trim levels offered, the 2023 AION Y Plus is priced between 119,800 yuan and 153,800 yuan. The 2023 AION S Plus comes with four trim levels with a guidance price range of 149,800 yuan to 165,800 yuan.

Both new products have minimal changes in their exterior appearance and interior design over the previous version. One of the key improvements is their motor technology, which enables a maximum cruising range of 610km for the 2023 AION S Plus.

The two new facelifts are expected to further drive GAC AION’s auto sales. In Mar. 2023, the automaker sold 40,016 vehicles, representing a 97% year-on-year surge and a 33% month-on-month jump. For the first quarter of this year, GAC AION saw its year-to-date sales zoom up 79% to 80,308 units.

On Mar. 30, GAC AION held an event to demonstrate that its Magazine Battery 2.0 sailed through a shooting test, which is a hardcore method here used to prove the battery’s high thermal safety.
