After inking the agreement, both parties will forge a long-term stable strategic partnership by leveraging their respective resources and advantages, in a bid to advance their cooperation in such areas as globalization, low-carbon sustainable development, and innovative technologies, and create enjoyable lifestyles for users.

The latest move came after 8 years of cooperation between the two parties. Autoliv has been supplying NIO with its safety products starting with NIO’s first production model, the NIO ES8.

Autoliv is cementing its collaboration with China’s local automakers. In Oct. 2022, it announced the strategic cooperation with Geely Automotive Research Institute, in a bid to promote future automotive safety technology advancement.

The cooperation between Geely Auto and Autoliv dated back to 2002. Over the next few years, the two parties will conduct advanced research for a variety of projects, including safety solutions for high-level autonomous driving scenarios and low-carbon materials applications, according to the new agreement.

Then in Mar. this year, Autoliv signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chery Automobile to help the latter improve its global business layout.
