Geely Holding, Zhejiang Seaport team up on construction of green, smart ports

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 13, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (“Geely Holding”) and Zhejiang Seaport Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Hangzhou, according to a post on Geely Holding's WeChat account.

Under the agreement, both parties will work together to build a digitalized, green, and smart innovative port, and deepen their cooperation in the fields of container logistics and roll-on/roll-off logistics.

They will collaborate to promote the construction of green logistics demonstration lines, explore the diversified development of green logistics dedicated routes and application scenarios, accelerate the promotion and application of new energy commercial vehicles, and drive the adoption and development of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in port scenarios.

The duo will gradually promote the electrification of vehicles within and outside the port area, as well as the operation of NEV charging and battery swapping stations.

Based on the strategic cooperation agreement, Geely-owned Farizon Auto's new energy heavy-duty trucks are expected to inject green new power into the development of Zhejiang Seaport. Additionally, new energy heavy-duty trucks equipped with unmanned driving technology will be gradually applied in the group's major ports.

In 2022, Ningbo Port Material Company purchased 28 Farizon Auto’s pure electric off-center terminal tractors. After the latest agreement signing, an increasing number of Farizon new energy heavy-duty trucks will appear in the transportation services of various ports in Zhejiang Province.
