Electric pickup Radar RD6 sets sail, launching Geely Radar's global journey

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 15th, the Radar RD6, the first production model under Geely's high-end new energy outdoors lifestyle vehicle brand Radar Auto, embarked on its maiden voyage from Tianjin Port, signaling the formal commencement of Geely Radar's global foray.

This milestone came after the automaker held a ceremony for the upcoming export of the first RD6s manufactured for overseas markets on July 25. It positions the model as the first instance of "Made in China" new energy pickup trucks sharing the stage with the likes Tesla's Cybertruck and Rivian’s R1T.

From its inception, Geely Radar has strategically targeted the niche market of new energy pickups. Over the span of three years, it meticulously developed the M.A.P platform, which the carmaker claims as China's premier native electric pickup platform.

Anchored by the philosophy of passenger car adaptation, the M.A.P's core technical metrics align seamlessly with mainstream passenger car platforms, displaying little disparity in factors such as range, NVH levels, and maneuverability. This marked enhancement in product quality significantly bridges the gap between traditional fuel-powered pickups.Noteworthy is Geely Radar's ambition to replicate its domestic new energy vehicle ecosystem abroad, utilizing its "systemic power" advantage to maximize market penetration. To achieve this, the brand collaborates closely with overseas local dealerships and automotive conglomerates. Tailoring its product strategy to suit varying countries and regions, the carmaker adeptly addresses diverse regional demands, rapidly extending its brand image and market presence while enhancing overseas customers' buying experience.

In the forthcoming journey, Geely Radar intends to establish a comprehensive service network and supporting measures for its products sold overseas. This encompasses initiatives such as charging and battery swapping system deployment, as well as service and maintenance station setup.
