GAC AION initiates Southeast Asia strategy by signing agreements with seven dealerships

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In a grand ceremony held in Bangkok on August 25, representatives from seven dealerships across four countries - Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Singapore - joined hands with GAC AION, a Chinese leading new energy vehicle maker under GAC Group, marking the initiation of a significant collaborative agreement.

This signing ceremony not only signifies the first major brand event for AION in Thailand since its entry into the market in late June this year, but also heralds the official launch of AION's Southeast Asia strategy. During the event, GAC AION presented its brand for the first time in Thailand and invited attendees to experience the unveiling of its flagship model, the AION Y Plus. This marked the model's debut appearance in Thailand.

As for AION's future strategic plan in the ASEAN region, its mission is to provide world-class high-end new energy products to Southeast Asian consumers and lead the charge towards the intelligent new energy vehicle lifestyle, said the automaker. Following the signing ceremony, over a hundred Thai media outlets were given a sneak preview of the AION Y Plus. The model is set to hit the Thai market in September.

The successful signing of this agreement is a pivotal move for AION to accelerate its international business layout and implement its ASEAN strategy. The company said it will continue to deeply cultivate the Thai market, drive localized production, continuously introduce new products, enhance its product lineup, and meet the evolving needs of Thai and even international consumers.
