All-new NIO EC6 to hit market in mid-September

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO, a prominent Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, recently revealed that its midsize SUV, the all-new NIO EC6, is set to hit the market on September 15. With the introduction of this vehicle, NIO will complete the transition of all products to its second-generation technology platform.

Additionally, NIO's inaugural smartphone, possibly named the "NIO Phone," is scheduled for an official release on September 21.

The all-new EC6 has already been unveiled through official filings by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It embraces NIO's fresh design philosophy, featuring a distinct split-style headlight design with slenger LED daytime running lights at the top. The headlights seamlessly integrate with the ventilation openings on both sides of the front bumper, while the lower section of the bumper incorporates a trapezoidal-shaped heat dissipation design.

Moving to the vehicle's side profile, it maintains the sporty, coupe-style SUV silhouette that characterizes NIO's design language. Its overall body lines are exceptionally clean and smooth, further accentuated by the use of concealed door handles, enhancing the vehicle's overall aesthetics.

At the rear, the all-new EC6 boasts a through-type taillight design, with the license plate frame area forming an intriguing contrast with the rest of the rear. The multi-layered rear bumper design further elevates the vehicle's three-dimensional appearance.

Regarding dimensions, the all-new EC6 measures 4,849mm in length, 1,995mm in width, and 1,697mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915mm. Under the hood, it will feature a dual-motor setup with both front and rear electric motors, delivering a combined power output of 360kW, and it will feature a four-wheel-drive system.
