Chinese solid-state lithium-metal battery supplier Shenzhen Inx closes Pre-A+ funding round

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese lithium metal battery developer Shenzhen Inx Technology Co., Ltd. ("Inx") recently announced the completion of its 100-million-yuan-level Pre-A+ funding round, according to the company's press release. The round was led by GL Ventures, with participation from the Smart Interconnect ("Zhihui Hulian" in Chinese) Fund, Qilu Qianhai Fund, its client EHang, and existing investor Fenghe Capital.

The funding infusion is earmarked for advancing technology R&D, expanding market presence, and ramping up production and delivery capabilities.

Established in 2020, Inx is a high-tech company specializing in the R&D and production of solid-state lithium-metal batteries, boasting a portfolio of proprietary core lithium battery technologies. Inx has already established an advanced 200MWh production line for solid-state lithium-metal batteries, key material preparation lines, and a solid-state battery analysis and testing platform.

Inx's solid-state lithium-metal batteries differ significantly from conventional lithium-ion batteries. They utilize lithium metal in place of graphite for the negative electrode and employ a solid-state electrolyte instead of a liquid electrolyte separator. This structural innovation results in a substantial leap in energy density while ensuring exceptional battery safety, said the company.

Sun Li, General Manager of Inx, remarked, "Our first-generation products, featuring an energy density of 450Wh/kg in capacities ranging from 6Ah to 50Ah, have garnered high praise from our clients. We have secured the necessary testing and certification reports, and possessed the capacity for mass production. In the next phase, we will deepen our collaboration with strategic partners to leverage Inx's advantages in solid-state lithium-metal batteries. This collaboration aims to significantly enhance the range and slimness of terminal products, ultimately accelerating the rapid market entry of high-safety, high-energy-density battery-powered devices."
