Huawei Digital Energy puts fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations into operation along Sichuan-Tibet Highway Southern Route

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- During China's National Day holiday, a series of fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations, which use the technology developed by Huawei Digital Energy, have officially gone live in multiple locations along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway Southern Route, namely, the route stretching from Litang County to Yading in Sichuan province, Huawei Digital Energy announced earlier this month via its WeChat account.

Huawei Digital Energy, the provider of digital power products and solutions under Huawei, said it has actively responded to the planning and layout for building high-quality charging infrastructures along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway Southern Route, as outlined by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Department of Transportation of Sichuan Province. In collaboration with customers and partners, they have embarked on creating the "318 Sichuan-Tibet Supercharging Green Corridor," which includes the construction of fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations at service areas and gas stations along the route.

The aforementioned supercharging green corridor leverages Huawei's liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging technology. The company claimed that these liquid-cooled stations can offer electric vehicle owners a "grab a coffee, hit the road fully charged" experience.

According to Huawei Digital Power's introduction, these liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging facilities come with the following features:

1. The maximum output power of such charging terminals is a whopping 600 kW, with a maximum current of 600A. This makes them the highest-power and fastest-charging infrastructure available, even in high-altitude regions, ensuring a refueling-like charging experience for electric vehicle owners.

2. The liquid-cooling technology guarantees high equipment reliability, with resistance to high temperatures, high humidity, dust, corrosion, and other complex conditions often found in the high-altitude areas along the route.

3. These terminals boast a remarkable 99% success rate for one-time charging, with a charging range of 200V-1,000V compatible with all vehicle models, including passenger cars under such brands as Tesla, XPeng, and Li Auto, as well as commercial vehicles from Huolala, etc. Along the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Route, they are the pioneers in offering the "plug-and-play" service.

Furthermore, Huawei Digital Energy expressed its commitment to delivering a top-tier charging experience for electric vehicle owners. In September 2023, in close collaboration with customers and partners, they successfully deployed Huawei fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations along the 318 Super Charging Green Corridor, covering locations such as Tianquan, Zheduo Mountain, Kazila Mountain, Litang, and Sangdui. To date, the charging stations in Tianquan, Litang, and Sangdui have become operational.
