Jishi Auto sees first mass-produced unit of Jishi 01 SUV roll off line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) brand Jishi Auto announced that the first mass-produced unit of the Jishi 01, its inaugural model, rolled off the production line at its Qingdao factory on October 21. Delivery of the model is set to begin in mid-November this year.

Jishi Auto was co-founded by ROX Motor and Beijing Automobile Works Co., Ltd. (BAW). In this collaboration, ROX Motor is responsible for providing intelligent solutions and design schemes, while BAW handles the vehicle's manufacturing process.

The Jishi 01, a mid-to-large-sized intelligent premium SUV, is available in both 6 and 7-seater arrangement, and features a range-extended powertrain. The model officially hit the market on August 22.

Equipped with a 56 kWh battery from CATL, the Jishi 01 boasts a WLTC-rate range of 235 km on battery power alone, and a combined range of 1,115 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. Regarding intelligent features, the model comes with three LiDAR units from Hesai Technology, including one 128-line forward laser radar and two solid-state side laser radars. Additionally, it also incorporates 12 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

On September 22, Jishi Auto opened its first showroom and delivery center in Shanghai, officially commencing operations. As part of its plan, by the end of this year, Jishi Auto aims to set up 17 experience showrooms, 11 delivery centers, and 11 service centers in 17 cities nationwide while establishing 62 authorized body and paint service centers in 55 cities.

Notably, on the same day, the parent company of Jishi Auto, ROX Motor, secured a strategic investment of $1 billion from Weiqiao Pioneering Group. The funds raised will be allocated towards the development of all-aluminum vehicle bodies, integrated die-casting technology, and short-cycle smart manufacturing plant projects, marking the commencement of comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between Weiqiao Pioneering Group and ROX Motor.
