China’s largest-ever Tesla destination charging station launched in Shenzhen city
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In an event held on November 17, Tesla celebrated the completion of the destination charging station in Qiaochengfang, Shenzhen city, showcasing an impressive facility featuring 188 destination charging piles. This station stands as the largest among the existing 700+ Tesla destination charging stations on the Chinese Mainland, according to a post on "Shenzhen Release", a WeChat account of Shenzhen's government.
Emphasizing a significant move toward openness, the charging station is now accessible to non-Tesla new energy vehicles (NEVs), contributing to the flourishing NEV ecosystem in Shenzhen.
Wang Ran, the head of Tesla's operations in Shenzhen, highlighted in his speech that Shenzhen holds a prominent position in China's development of NEVs, boasting one of the world's leading quantities and penetration rates of such vehicles. The improvement of NEV charging infrastructure serves as a crucial foundation for the continuous growth of NEV ownership and the high-quality development of the NEV industry in Shenzhen. The city is actively working towards becoming a "supercharging city," driving the development of the NEV industry and technological innovation. Tesla, in alignment with this vision, is actively contributing to the charging infrastructure layout, lending support to the construction of the "supercharging city."

As of now, Tesla has established 61 open Supercharger stations, 537 Supercharger piles, 28 destination charging stations, and 341 destination charging piles in Shenzhen. The strategic locations include the core CBD areas, business districts, hotels, and residential communities, ensuring convenient and accessible charging options for Tesla owners. Notably, within the core business district of Shenzhen, a Tesla Supercharger station can be reached within 15 minutes.
Tesla's Charging Team Product Manager, Zhang Chi, shared that nationally, there are over 700 destination charging stations and more than 2,000 destination charging stalls. These stations aim to provide a compatible, efficient, and secure recharging experience for electric vehicle owners. Through the Tesla App, owners of non-Tesla electric vehicles can view nearby available stations and stalls, enjoying a worry-free 7kW charging experience. Tesla vehicles, on the other hand, support a maximum 21kW charging power, enabling a rapid charge from 0% to 80% of their battery capacity in just 6 hours. Ensuring safety, Tesla's charging products adhere to a protection safety level of IP54 or higher, incorporating features such as short-circuit protection, lightning protection, overload protection, and leakage protection. The Tesla charging service team employs self-diagnostic programs, allowing for advanced identification of hardware and software issues, remote diagnostics, firmware repairs, and ensuring the continual availability of charging equipment.
